Experience
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Animal and Veterinary Science from the University of Idaho. I am also in the process of completing a degree in human health from North Idaho College. My experience in both animal and human health care has enabled me to gain experience in the subject areas of math and science. As such, I am comfortable tutoring students in algebra, science, pre-algebra, biology, anatomy, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and algebra. I also have experience tutoring students in biology, algebra, and pre-calculus at both the college and high school levels. I can also help students prepare for standardized tests, such as the SAT, ACT, PSAT, and ISAT. I am interested in tutoring because I know how difficult math and science can be. I really enjoy being able to help students understand complicated subjects and I know how much of an accomplishment it can be when a student finally understands a difficult subject. My philosophy as a tutor is to help students really learn a concept rather than just helping them solve individual problems. This allows them to understand how to work through subsequent problems and also helps them develop useful skills in future courses. In terms of hobbies, I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, skiing, fly fishing, and horseback riding.
